Fred and Sharon

Could this be the best thing on the internet? I think so. I'd highly recommend their 'Video Movie' service, if it's anything like this baby.

Tell the Truth

A great blog entry on scamp about the importance of telling the truth in advertising.

Budweiser Goldfish

Ads without words. They seem to be a bit of a novelty these days. I did this about a year ago for Budweiser. Shot by photographer Peter Beavis, it still makes me smile.

Brawndo!!!

Advertising schmadvertising. Do it yourself creative. I think these guys have taken a different approach, producing an incredible viral campaign and then having to create the product because of demand. At least that's the way I'd like to think it was done. Watch these, they're just brilliant.

God's Eye View

These are just wonderful. The Glue Society has put Google Earth and Photoshop together to create a series of altered satellite images depicting biblical events. The image above shows Moses parting the Red Sea. The collection also includes the Garden of Eden, the Cruxifiction, and Noah's Ark. Expect a host of other historical events soon. I'd like them to have a flick through Nostradamus' quatrains and attempt the future as well.

Rock Paper Scissors

"I understand how scissors can beat paper, and i get how a rock can beat scissors, but there’s no way paper can beat rock. Is paper supposed to magically wrap around rock and leave it immobile? Why the hell can’t paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can’t paper do this to people? Why aren’t sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they take notes in class? I’ll tell you why, because paper can’t beat anybody. A rock would tear it up in 2 seconds. When I play rock paper scissors, I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say, oh shit I’m sorry, I thought paper would protect you, you asshole". I found this on ffffound.

Dog Judo

What is it about talking animals that is so damn funny? I remember seeing Dog Judo about a year ago, and was never sure who put it there, or why. Then I saw the latest work for the RSPCA last week from AMV BBDO, and guess what, there they are again. Is there some sort of link here? Whatever the case may be, what I think's still brilliant about this is the little insights Roy the ass-kicking dog keeps posting up.

The things we said today

I forgot my ipod this morning. It's incredible what you hear on the underground; Two youths try to remember the name of "that old geeza who represents the blacks" (Nelson Mandela); A couple of city guys discuss "offsetting potential losses in the principal markets" (Hedge funds...I think). It was a real ear-opener.

Extraordinarily Ordinary

In advertising I spend most of my time dreaming up wacky images, 'conceiving of the extraordinary'. Yet, I sometimes forget that there's actually far more extraordinary stuff out there in the big wide world than there is in my tiny little head. Everywhere you look there's an incredible story to be read into. Take a look at planner Russell Davies' blog, in defence of the ordinary, it's just great. I'd like to see any images you have of the extraordinarily ordinary.

Honda ATV Campaign

Oh how proud I am. A print campaign I created to raise awareness of Honda's range of sports ATVs won silver for Press at this years DMA awards. The three executions entitled Fear, Pain, and Failure were penned by the very talented writers, Jaime Diskin and Craig Kind.

Honda Seed Mailer

Good for the environment, good for my portfolio. This little gem of an idea, which I created with copywriter Jaime Diskin, won gold at this years Creative Circle awards.

Songs by Graph

Very funny, and there's lots more
here too. Admittedly they're not all so great. Sift through for the odd smile.
